EQuIPD is the last great idea of the late, great Dr. Deborah J. Cassidy. Everyone in early childhood knew just to call her Deb. Deb had the vision to provide technical assistance differently to help make it more sustainable within early care and education programs. Deb served our profession in a variety of roles. During her career, Deb served not only as a Professor in Human Development and Family Studies Department at UNCG for 26 years, she was also the Director of the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE), which licenses all child care facilities in the state. During the four years she served as the Director of DCDEE; she advocated for improved wages for teachers of young children and for improvements in the quality of care and education that children were receiving.
